Abstract

The emergence of Internet of Things as a reliable, advanced and less costly technology is creating waves in the world of technology leading to innovations in different areas of healthcare, environment and many more. IoT technology enables every object around us to be controlled and monitored making it possible for things to interact with each other and not only with human beings. IoT finds its applications in wide areas of science and technology and also in day to day life to make life more comfortable and secure. In this paper we present a comprehensive study of applications of Internet of Things in various spheres of life such as smart homes, smart waste management, smart healthcare, smart manufacturing, waste management, surveillance etc. This paper also discusses some challenges faced by Internet of Things in different sectors because of its architecture. These challenges are need to be resolved before internet of things becomes a widely accepted and used technology.
